  • One of the aims of KCSYC is to promote the musical and personal development of its members by providing opportunities to learn and perform challenging music. By enrolling my child in KCSYC, my child has my permission to participate in KCSYC ho’omāhele & activities, and I agree to support the mission and purpose of KCSYC; and in this regard, I agree to participate fully and support our child as a member of KCSYC including, but not limited to: completing all required forms and permissions, signing up for volunteer duties, payment of participation fees, etc.
  • I agree to waive all claims against KCSYC for any injury or property damage that my child may incur while participating in KCSYC concerts and activities, including KCSYC-sponsored recreational activities. I understand that all reasonable safety precautions will be taken at all times by KCSYC during KCSYC ho’omāhele and activities. I also understand the possibility of unforeseen hazards and risks that may arise during a KCSYC ho’omāhele or activity. I, individually and on behalf of my child, agree to release, indemnify and hold KCSYC harmless, including its officers and directors, employees, representatives, volunteers and chaperones from all liabilities and claims for any injuries, diseases, losses, death, damages or costs which arise out of or are incident to our child’s participation in a KCSYC ho’omāhele or activities.

  • Singers, guardians and family members who live in the home will be in good health for singers to participate in-person. Any singer who exhibits cold-like symptoms will be asked to participate in online rehearsals, Monday afternoons. Singers will wear a singer’s mask over the nose and mouth that will be provided by KCSYC at all times during rehearsal. Singers will leave their mask in a ziploc between rehearsals with their name on it. Families are welcome to take masks home to wash them, but MUST have their singer’s mask for rehearsal. A singer who comes to multiple rehearsals without their singer’s mask will be required to leave the mask with KCSYC and/or purchase a new one at the singer’s expense. Any change to this policy will take place in writing to all registered KCSYC families. Everyone must be masked at drop off and pick up. Singers will be required to wash hands upon arrival, and prior to departure. Singers will sign in at drop off with the name, phone number and signature of the person responsible for the singer. They will indicate whether they will be present at pickup, or will indicate the name and telephone number of the person picking up their singer.
  • I understand that having my child participate in-person and singing with others, carries an amount of risk due to the nature of COVID-19 and its variants, and that it may be transmitted by singing, speaking and breathing. I also understand that KCSYC may include in-person-based experiences that require proximity to, and interaction with others. KCSYC has advised me that they have been using and will continue to engage in best practices relating to COVID-19 safety in line with the recommendations of the State of Hawaii's Department of Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, including the continued and closely-monitored use of masks, social distancing, and sanitation of hands and surfaces.

KCSYC, its students and parents acknowledge that there are inherent dangers and risks involved with use of virtual/online services. These may include, but are not limited to: injury while participating in the activities, interpersonal conflicts with other students, hacking, inference by digital intruders, identity theft, computer attacks, and other such dangers or risks that may be inherent or newly discovered with virtual/online platforms.

I waive any right I or my child may have to be notified of (or to review or approve) any recordings, pictures, or materials, or to receive any royalties or other compensation for the use of such recordings, pictures or materials, containing our child’s pictures, likeness, image or voice. KCSYC will endeavor to minimize the sharing of our child’s picture, likeness, image or voice to participants and family/friends of participants, whenever possible in accordance with the mission of KCSYC. I further acknowledge and understand that there are potential risks associated with the posting of information on the Website, since global access to the internet does not allow for control of who may access such information. I understand that the KCSYC will require a reasonable period of time from such receipt of notice to remove such information from its Website and to stop any further written publication of such information. I further acknowledge and understand that once any photos/images/video or audio recordings of my/our child/children have been downloaded from the internet or otherwise distributed in hard form to the public, KCSYC will not be able to retrieve such distributed or downloaded photos/images/video and/or audio recordings of my/our child/children.

I will be an active member in a volunteering capacity and any guardianship discussions that may unfold, as well as assisting with projects and attending and participating in all potential fund-raisers. I furthermore understand that my child's safety and the safety of others is my responsibility when I am present and I will assist as a chaperone when possible. KCSYC requests the engagement of guardians and singer’s Ohana for volunteer activities and welcomes ideas and creative participation. Please feel free at any time to be in touch about skills, talents and thoughts about how you might help our singers learn more/differently about this vast world of music and artistic expression.
